Fortress Communicator has four consumer (B2C) tiers and three business (B2B) tiers, plus two add-on products that apply to every tier. Every tier ships the same encryption stack — security is not a feature flag. The difference between tiers is how many phone numbers, minutes, and SMS you get.
Consumer tiers (B2C)

|---|---|---|
| Phone number activation | $2.99 one-time per number | Adds a new DID to your account; available on all tiers |
| $10 top-up | $9.99 | Adds $10 of pre-paid calling credit to your balance |

| $50 top-up | $49.99 | Adds $50 of pre-paid calling credit to your balance |

How bundles roll over
Apple subscriptions renew monthly on your purchase date. At each renewal:
- Your monthly bundle (minutes, SMS, MMS) resets to the tier’s allotment.
- Unused bundle minutes roll over within the same tier — they accumulate to a maximum of 2× the tier’s monthly allotment so they do not pile up indefinitely.
- Top-up balance dollars never expire and carry across tier changes or cancellations.
- Switching tiers resets the bundle to the new tier’s allotment on the next Apple renewal.
Cancellation
Cancel anytime from the App Store subscription settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Fortress Communicator). Your subscription continues until the end of the current billing period; you do not lose access immediately. Pre-paid top-up balance dollars remain available — you can keep using them for inbound calls and SMS at the Free tier indefinitely, or top up more without re-subscribing.

Appreciate the breakdown between individual and org tiers — we’ve been burned before by vendors who make you call sales just to get a ballpark number, so seeing the actual plan names and add-on structure upfront is refreshing. Quick question though: does the Enterprise tier include DID numbers in the base price or are those always a separate line item? Trying to build an accurate budget proposal for next fiscal year.
Appreciate the breakdown between individual and org tiers — we’ve been on a hodgepodge of tools and I’m specifically trying to figure out if the Business plan covers multi-facility deployments or if we’d need to step up to Enterprise. Any chance you could clarify how DID numbers are allocated across locations?
Appreciate the breakdown between the individual and org-tier plans — that’s a question we get tangled up on every budget cycle. Quick question though: does the Enterprise tier include unlimited DID assignments per facility, or is that still an add-on even at that level? That detail matters a lot when we’re housing detainees across two separate buildings with different call routing needs.
Appreciate the breakdown between the individual tiers and the org-level plans — that’s something vendors rarely lay out clearly upfront. Quick question though: does the Enterprise tier include the DID add-ons in the base price, or are those always billed separately regardless of plan? Trying to build out a realistic budget proposal for our county commissioners before the next fiscal cycle.
Appreciate the breakdown between individual and organizational tiers — we’ve been burned before by vendors who bury the real costs in add-ons, so seeing the DID and top-up pricing spelled out upfront is refreshing. Quick question though: does the Enterprise plan include any dedicated onboarding support, or is that a separate line item? That’s usually the make-or-break for getting buy-in from our command staff.
We’ve been shopping around for a JMS communication solution and the tiered pricing breakdown here is actually really helpful — most vendors bury that info until you’re already on a demo call. Quick question though: does the Enterprise org plan cover multi-facility deployments under one county sheriff’s office, or do we need separate licenses per facility?
